Mitchell has held the office since 1995, and hours before the story was set to be published, he dropped his re-election bid. The article shows Mitchell wrote $72,000 in checks from county accounts, withdrew roughly $9,000 from banks and ATMs, pulled out money at bars and casinos, and spent thousands more on meals and trips to see his family.

Releasing Las Vegas gunman videos may be MGM strategy

Footage of the Las Vegas Gunman from the massacre in Las Vegas on Oct 1st was recently released by MGM, the parent company of the Mandalay Bay.  The recent article by  in the Las Vegas Review-Journal concerns the possible strategy implications of releasing the footage six months after the shooting.  Attorney Craig W. Drummond was quoted in the article asserting that the video raised more questions that it answered.

Ross Johnson, a public relations specialist was quoted saying, “They want people to see that there is no way in that video a normal employee would have actually seen anything,” adding that it was an appropriate move from a public relations standpoint.
