Pahrump Brain Injury Lawyer

Brain injuries are some of the most serious and complex injuries an individual can suffer. Whether caused by a car crash, slip and fall, workplace accident, or violent assault, traumatic brain injuries (TBI) often result in long-term complications that affect every aspect of a person’s life—from memory and cognition to mobility and emotional well-being. Recovery can take months or years, and in many cases, full recovery may never be possible.
For individuals living in rural towns like Pahrump, the challenges after a brain injury can be even more pronounced. Access to neurologists, rehabilitation centers, and long-term care facilities is often limited. Medical providers may be located far from home, and transportation for follow-up care can become a major barrier. Meanwhile, the financial burden continues to grow, especially if the injured person cannot return to work.
If you or a loved one has suffered a brain injury in Pahrump, it is not enough to rely on basic legal support. These are high-stakes cases that require deep legal knowledge, access to medical experts, and a commitment to long-term recovery. Drummond Injury Lawyer Pahrump provides serious representation for serious injuries. We understand the complexity of brain trauma and fight to ensure our clients receive the compensation they need to rebuild their lives.

Why Choose Drummond Law Firm for a Brain Injury Case

Brain injury cases are not routine personal injury claims. They are medically complex, emotionally charged, and often fiercely contested by insurance companies. At Drummond Law Firm, we bring the resources and experience needed to handle these difficult cases with the care and intensity they deserve.
Our founder, Craig W. Drummond, is a former U.S. Army Captain and trial attorney who served as a JAG officer in Iraq. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his service and now leads a law firm built on the same principles of discipline, preparation, and integrity. That background sets the tone for everything we do—especially when standing up for clients who have been seriously injured.
We do not pass cases off to assistants or call center staff. When you hire Drummond Law Firm, you work directly with an attorney. That relationship means we get to know you, understand your medical journey, and develop a case strategy that reflects the full scope of your losses.
Unlike firms focused on quick settlements, we prepare every case for trial from day one. This approach positions us to secure stronger results—whether through litigation or negotiation—because opposing counsel knows we are ready to go the distance.
We also provide our Reduced Fee Guarantee®. If your case settles before a lawsuit is filed, we guarantee that our attorney fee will never exceed your net recovery. That means you will always take home more than your lawyer, ensuring a fair and transparent resolution.

What Makes Brain Injury Cases Unique Under Nevada Law

Traumatic brain injuries present challenges that are different from most other types of personal injury claims. They are often invisible on the surface but deeply damaging in ways that are difficult to quantify. The legal process must account for these complexities, and that requires a law firm with specific experience in handling TBI claims.

Symptoms May Be Delayed or Subtle

Unlike a broken bone or visible wound, a brain injury may not be immediately apparent. Symptoms such as memory problems, mood swings, dizziness, or speech difficulties can take days or weeks to manifest. Unfortunately, insurance companies often use these delays to argue that the injury was not caused by the accident.

Long-Term Effects Are Difficult to Predict

Brain injuries affect everyone differently. Some individuals recover quickly with therapy, while others may experience lifelong cognitive deficits or personality changes. These outcomes make it difficult to project medical costs and care needs without expert medical input.

Expert Witnesses and Imaging Are Essential

To prove the seriousness of a brain injury, legal teams must rely on advanced imaging (such as MRI or CT scans), neurological assessments, and expert testimony. These tools help explain to a jury or insurance adjuster why the injury matters and what it means for the victim’s future.

Insurers Often Downplay Brain Trauma

Because TBIs do not always show up on standard tests and may not result in hospitalization, insurance companies frequently label them as “mild” or “temporary.” At Drummond Law Firm, we counter those arguments with medical evidence, expert evaluations, and clear testimony from those who know the victim best.

Common Causes of Brain Injuries in Pahrump

Brain injuries can result from a wide range of incidents. In a rural town like Pahrump, certain causes are especially common. Our legal team investigates the specific circumstances of each injury to determine who is at fault and how liability can be established.

Car, Truck, or Motorcycle Accidents on Rural Highways

High-impact crashes on roads like NV-160 or Bell Vista Road are a leading cause of TBIs. Victims may hit their head on the steering wheel, windshield, or pavement—even if they were wearing a seatbelt or helmet. These collisions often result in concussions or more severe brain trauma.

Slip and Falls in Stores, Casinos, or Apartment Complexes

A fall may seem like a minor incident, but when someone hits their head on a hard surface, the outcome can be serious. Business owners and landlords have a legal duty to maintain safe premises. If you slipped on a wet floor or tripped on an uneven surface, you may be entitled to compensation.

Assaults or Negligent Security at Events or Businesses

Some brain injuries are caused by violence—such as being struck during a fight or pushed into a hard object. If a business or event venue failed to provide adequate security or allowed a dangerous situation to escalate, they may be liable for the resulting harm.

Workplace Accidents or Construction-Related Impacts

Falling tools, unsecured equipment, or lack of protective gear can result in serious brain injuries on job sites. Employers and contractors are responsible for following safety regulations. If they fail to do so, and someone is injured, they may face legal consequences.

Falling Objects or Recreational Injuries

Brain injuries can also occur during recreational activities, such as ATV riding, hiking, or horseback riding—especially if proper safety precautions were not taken. Falling equipment, collapsing structures, or unmarked hazards can all lead to liability claims if negligence is involved.
At Drummond Law Firm, we pursue every available avenue for compensation and hold negligent individuals, businesses, or entities accountable. Our trial-tested approach ensures that brain injury cases are built with strength, structure, and the seriousness they deserve.

Recognizing the Signs of a Brain Injury

Traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) are often referred to as “invisible injuries” because their effects are not always immediately apparent. Unlike a broken bone or visible wound, a brain injury may not show up on initial scans or be fully understood until symptoms begin to surface days or even weeks after the incident. This delay makes early recognition of signs and symptoms critical for treatment, recovery, and legal action.
If you or a loved one has suffered a blow to the head—whether in a vehicle crash, fall, or other traumatic event—pay close attention to how the body and mind respond. At Drummond Law Firm, we often work with clients who did not initially realize they had a serious brain injury. Knowing what to look for can help you get the medical help you need and protect your right to compensation.

Persistent Headaches or Nausea

Recurring headaches or unexplained nausea are common early signs of brain trauma. These symptoms can indicate swelling or pressure within the skull and should not be ignored. If headaches worsen over time or are accompanied by vomiting, they may signal a more serious issue.

Memory Loss, Confusion, or Mood Changes

Short-term memory issues, difficulty concentrating, or confusion about time and place are frequent symptoms of TBIs. Victims may also experience sudden mood swings, irritability, or difficulty processing information. These changes can interfere with work, relationships, and daily functioning.

Sensitivity to Light or Sound

Increased sensitivity to light or sound is a hallmark symptom of concussion and other forms of brain trauma. Individuals may find it difficult to tolerate normal lighting or background noise, often leading to headaches or anxiety in public settings.

Loss of Balance or Motor Coordination

The brain controls balance and coordination. If you notice unsteadiness when walking, difficulty holding objects, or sudden clumsiness, it could indicate that part of the brain responsible for motor function has been affected.

Behavioral Shifts, Anxiety, or Depression

Behavioral and emotional changes are among the most challenging aspects of brain injury recovery. Individuals may become withdrawn, depressed, anxious, or unusually aggressive. These shifts are not personality flaws—they are symptoms of neurological trauma and deserve both medical and legal attention.

Seizures or Changes in Sleep Patterns

Seizures, whether minor or severe, can develop after a traumatic brain injury. Changes in sleep—such as insomnia, hypersomnia, or irregular sleep cycles—are also common and may further affect mood, concentration, and physical healing.
Recognizing these symptoms is the first step in seeking treatment and justice. If you or someone you love shows any of these signs after a traumatic event, seek medical evaluation and contact a qualified brain injury attorney right away.

When the stakes are high, you need an attorney who’s already been tested under pressure.

How Brain Injuries Affect Daily Life and Future Earning Capacity

The consequences of a brain injury go beyond medical symptoms. They often change the way a person lives, works, and interacts with others. These long-term effects are what make brain injury cases so serious—and why they require strong legal advocacy to secure appropriate compensation.

Inability to Return to Work or School

Cognitive impairment, memory issues, and decreased focus may prevent victims from returning to their previous jobs or continuing their education. Some individuals may be forced to leave the workforce permanently, significantly altering their financial future.

Dependence on Caregivers or Family

Brain injuries can leave victims unable to perform everyday tasks such as cooking, driving, or managing finances. This creates a reliance on spouses, children, or hired caregivers, increasing both emotional strain and economic pressure on the entire family.

Expensive Rehabilitation, Therapy, or Medication

Rehabilitation is often long-term and may include physical therapy, occupational therapy, counseling, and medication management. These services are essential for recovery but can cost tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars over a lifetime.

Changes in Personality or Ability to Maintain Relationships

Brain injuries can alter a person’s behavior, making it difficult to maintain personal relationships. Family members may describe their loved one as “not the same person,” a reflection of how deeply these injuries affect emotions and personality.

Mental Health Effects Including PTSD or Social Isolation

Depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder are common among brain injury survivors. These conditions can lead to social withdrawal, loss of independence, and a diminished quality of life.
These long-term consequences highlight the importance of securing compensation that reflects not just current losses, but also future needs. At Drummond Law Firm, we work with medical and financial experts to calculate the full cost of your recovery and advocate for the support you deserve.

Who May Be Held Liable for a Brain Injury?

The cause of a brain injury often determines who can be held legally responsible. At Drummond Law Firm, we investigate every potential source of liability and pursue claims against all responsible parties.

Negligent Drivers or Commercial Vehicle Operators

Motor vehicle accidents are among the leading causes of traumatic brain injuries. That’s why having a trusted Drummond Law car accident and injury lawyer on your side can make all the difference when navigating these high-stakes cases. Drivers who speed, run red lights, or drive while impaired can be held liable for the injuries they cause.

Property Owners Who Failed to Maintain Safe Conditions

Slip and fall accidents due to wet floors, broken steps, or poor lighting are another common source of brain trauma. Property owners who fail to maintain safe environments may be held responsible under Nevada’s premises liability laws.

Employers or Contractors in Workplace Incidents

Falls from heights, equipment failure, or falling objects on job sites often result in brain injuries. If safety procedures were not followed, the employer or contractor may be liable for the resulting harm.

Security Companies or Event Organizers (In Cases Involving Assaults)

If a brain injury results from an assault or violence at an event or business, the property owner or security provider may be liable for failing to provide adequate protection.

Product Manufacturers

Defective helmets, airbags, or other safety equipment may fail to protect the brain during a traumatic event. Manufacturers of faulty products can be held liable under product liability laws if their negligence contributed to the injury.

What Compensation Is Available in a Brain Injury Claim?

Brain injury claims involve high stakes, and compensation must reflect the full extent of the damage. At Drummond Law Firm, we fight for every category of loss allowed under Nevada law. These claims must account not only for the victim’s immediate medical needs, but also for the long-term, and often permanent, effects of the injury. We work with financial experts, medical professionals, and life care planners to fully document what you have lost—and what you will continue to lose—because of the trauma you experienced.

Past and Future Medical Expenses

These include hospital bills, surgeries, medications, therapy, and ongoing care. Future medical costs are calculated based on your long-term needs and condition. This may include future surgeries, neurological care, occupational therapy, speech rehabilitation, and follow-up appointments with specialists. For many victims, the costs do not end after the first year—some need treatment for the rest of their lives.

Lost Wages and Diminished Earning Capacity

If your injury has limited your ability to work, you can seek compensation for income already lost and your reduced ability to earn in the future. This includes promotions or career paths you can no longer pursue, changes in job responsibilities due to cognitive limitations, and early retirement caused by the injury’s progression.

Long-Term Care and Life Planning Costs

This includes in-home care, mobility aids, renovations for accessibility, and professional life care planning. Some individuals may require assistance with daily living tasks such as dressing, bathing, and transportation. Home modifications, such as wheelchair ramps or stair lifts, may also be needed.

Pain and Suffering

Pain, cognitive limitations, fatigue, and the emotional burden of living with a brain injury all fall under this category. These non-economic damages are essential for reflecting how the injury affects every part of your life—not just your finances, but your ability to enjoy life as you once did.

Emotional Trauma and Loss of Quality of Life

These damages account for the mental and emotional toll of your injuries, including PTSD, depression, and the inability to participate in normal life activities. Many brain injury victims suffer from social isolation, difficulty maintaining relationships, and the loss of hobbies or passions they once enjoyed.

Wrongful Death Benefits (If the Injury Becomes Fatal)

If a brain injury leads to death, surviving family members may pursue wrongful death benefits for loss of companionship, income, and funeral costs. These claims also include damages for emotional grief and the loss of support and guidance the deceased would have provided to their spouse, children, or other dependents.

Craig Drummond is outstanding!! He was SO thoroughly prepared & effective that the opposing lawyer actually threatened to SUE THEIR OWN CLIENT if a settlement wasn’t reached soon. He controlled the case completely, stayed calm under pressure, answered any & every question I had (I’m very analytical). Craig delivered excellent results even beyond what I thought was “best case”. This firm, the staff and Craig Drummond are amazing! They are efficient, pleasant, professional and highly responsive. I worked in the legal field during my career span and truly appreciate the knowledge of Mr. Drummond. I recently was assisting a family member with some legal concerns and reached out to Mr. Drummond and Ximena for guidance. Although he does not practice in this area, he got back to me the very next morning - less than 10 hours later after emailing him at 10pm. He gave very sound and detailed advice and guidance. He also was kind enough to offer referrals to trusted attorneys in the field. I truly am grateful that I have had the opportunity to meet and deal with Craig Drummond, Esq. and consider myself so fortunate. Aloha, B.J. Souza

Craig Drummond and all of his staff are fantastic people to work with. I was involved in an accident where I was rear-ended by someone in a company vehicle that resulted in a traumatic brain injury. The personal attention that I received and the recommended Medical treatment was invaluable to me. My vehicle was totaled as I was pushed into the SUV in front of me. My award from the judge was in the seven figures. I highly recommend his law firm for any type of injury case somebody might have
